When I taught ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification, one of the most frequently asked questions was “Can I take the course and test online?”  ServSafe® requires a face-to-face proctored exam, so we always combined it with the course.  This required a full day away from your facility.

I now have access to The Always Food Safe Company, LLC. They offer the ANSI accredited Food Protection Manager program.  It is recognized by all health departments in Georgia and other states – the same as the ServSafe® program.  I will highlight the differences and advantages below:

• The course and Proctored Exam are offered 100% online. You can take the course and proctored exam from your office or home. There is no need to go to a different location. You may start an pause the training as needed so the training can be convenient.

• The passing score is 70%, compared to the required 75% by ServSafe®. Many registrants missed by 1 or 2 points.

• The exam fee includes the ability to retake the exam one time without extra payment. You will still have access to the training session online if needed.

• An e-certificate will be provided immediately upon passing the exam and you will have access any time during the 5-year accreditation.

• Your cost is only $126 for the training course and the proctored exam.  

I know you will want to take advantage of this program for you and your team members. The Food Code Interpretation Manual  (October 2020) requires a Certified Food Safety Protection Manager (CFPM) be present on site when an inspector is in your facility.
